Weld symbols

Weld symbols

Weld symbols – that’s the easy one, isn’t it? You just put an arrow and define the symbol. You draw the symbol, print it as a PDF and send it to the workshop. Yet after a while, you realise on the building site that the weld is not where it is supposed to be.

– How could that happen? – You ask. – It’s obvious that the weld should be on the plate side and not the I-beam side.

It’s logical, but not obvious. Weld symbols are defined in ISO 2553, and the direction of the arrow makes all the difference!
