Weld symbols – that’s the easy one, isn’t it? You just add an arrow and define the symbol, print the drawing to PDF and send it to the workshop. Yet after a while, you realise on the building site that the weld is not where it is supposed to be.
“How could that happen?” you ask. “It’s obvious that the weld should be on the plate side, not the I-beam side.”
It’s logical, but not obvious. Weld symbols are defined in ISO 2553, and the direction of the arrow makes all the difference!
