The European ISO 2553 and the American AWS/ANSI A2.4 are similar, yet not identical. When preparing fabrication drawings, it is important to distinguish between these two approaches. ISO indicates the position of the weld – visible or non-visible side – with a dashed line, while AWS uses a symbol placed above or below the reference line.
Do you use Tekla Structures or Advance Steel? Bear in mind that you have to switch not only between the metric and imperial systems, but also between the ISO and AWS systems.
