Heavy connection

Simple connection, very “not simple” design – this time it is connection steel-concrete type, in which reaction force 3 400T must be transferred from 200m high concrete #skyscrapper to steel base frame. Things to be considered: local compression of concrete, influence of #reinforcement onto #load distribution, accidental case for #collapsing of building (tension in connection), welding technology (plates thk 150mm), #brittlefracture , limitations in cutting of such thick plates, mounting procedure … What a great experience to design it and having fun with #engineering challenges!
